A Notary Signing Agent (NSA) is a Notary Public who has specific training to handle loan documents and real estate closings. Mortgage Companies and Title & Escrow Companies hires NSA to conduct loan signings outside of standard office hours or at out of office locations. As a NSA, I will verify the IDs of all parties signing documents and facilitate the signing of loan documents during a schedule appointment.
A Notary Signing Agent will arrive at the designated location for a scheduled appointment. At least 24 hours before each appointment, a confirmation phone call or email will placed to the signers to confirm the appointment time and location. During the appointment, a NSA will verify the IDs of the parties signing and walk each party through the documents. Each party will sign their name on the documents exactly as the name appears below the signature line. The loan signing appointment typically takes 45 minutes to 1 hour for standard sized loan documents. Some appointments can take 15 to 30 minutes for Hybrid/E-Closings or smaller sized packages. A copy of the loan signing documents will be provided to the borrower if required by the Mortgage Company or Title & Escrow Company. An electronic copy of loan signing documents will be provided by the Mortgage Company or the Title & Escrow Company.
